MOVIE CLUB Celebrate Halloween By Releasing ‘Black Flamingo’

Share This:

In the spirit of Halloween this year, Venice Beach psych rock duo Movie Club again don their masquerade masks and do magic in a haunted spirit house —but this time in a vivid alternate color version of their music video Black Flamingo, originally released in black and white in 2020.

Director and magician Ran Pink created this multi-color version to enhance the magic behind the video. At first glance, it is a music video that confounds and begs the question, How was it made? The short answer is it was shot with an incredible macro lens that is ideal to shoot miniatures and plants as if they were “real sized.” Combine that with a green screen and some video editing wizardry, and this one-of-a-kind video was born.

“This music video looks like a $100,000 production,” says Foo Fighters keyboardist Rami Jaffee, who
plays organ on the track.
