More details emerge about the alleged Rolling Thunder Festival

The bands were booked.  The poster was shared.  The Facebook event page was created.  All critical things that are needed for a festival.

But overnight, it seems that this festival has fallen apart.  It all started when Kryal Castle released a statement last night that Rolling Thunder Festival would not be occurring at their venue.

Then Heathen Skulls owner, Robert MacManus made comments on various posts that it was the venues recent Oktoberfest that caused the venue to make changes to their liquor licence and subsequently the festival was pulled.

Last night, Kryal Castle replied to a HEAVY Mag tweet stated this wasn’t the case.  According to Kryal, “Promoter had no agreement in place and started selling tickets without approval or booking. We were more than patient.”

According to Tone Deaf, Young Henry’s were never confirmed as sponsors either.

While event posters tout Young Henrys as one of the official presenting partners, a Young Henrys representative has confirmed to Tone Deaf that while the company was approached by Heathen Skulls to present the festival, they passed on the offer.

The Sword were due to headline the festival, along with Clowns, American Sharks (USA), Beastwars (NZ, only Australian show), Radio Moscow (USA), Kings Destroy (USA), Salem’s Pot (Sweden), Holy Serpent, Warped, Wolfpack, Fuck the Fitzroy Doom Scene, Los Hombres Del Diablo, Child, Hobo Magic, Broozer.

According to MacManus, another venue has been booked with camping facilities available.  If punters can’t go to the new venue, refunds will be available.
