Australian metalcore outfit Mirrors return reinvigorated, announcing their highly anticipated second album, The Red Sky, alongside their signing to Greyscale Records and the release of their dark, atmospheric new single Devil’s Due. Out Friday 27 November, The Red Sky sees Mirrors hone in on the mature, expansive sound that has always set them apart.
For Mirrors, The Red Sky is a glimmering exploration of apocalypse as both a means of destruction and a pathway to cleansing and reconstruction. Told through both literal and metaphorical lenses, the album examines the moments in life that completely dismantle our understanding of the world around us. “In different times in everyone’s lives, we all experience these moments,” says the band. “Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, an individual who breaks us down or a literal force of nature that leaves us wondering what we have left. However, these moments also present the opportunity to grow, discover something new and build something to withstand the next storm.”
