MIRRORS’ brand new EP ‘Cold Sanctuary’ EP is out now – released this morning and available at all good online platforms and streaming outlets at https://Mirrors.lnk.to/SBfpO

The Victorian outfit are also marking the release of the EP with one final video release – for the track ‘Damien’. A deeply personal track for the band, but in particular, guitarist Tyson Taifer.

The track is about showing the grief and hurt of losing a brother –  and expresses the pain and the process that we all fear the most. Tyson lost his brother Damien in 2017 at age 21 – and the videoclip (directed and edited by Ed Reiss) features himself and the band saying goodbye to him in their way, as well as plenty of personal home footage of the warm and loving Taifer family and Damien.

The EP, out today has garnered high praise so far, with Wall of Sound saying “It was hard to find faults in this EP, the Mirrors boys have gone above and beyond with this one. Proving that they are a force to be reckoned with, there is no doubt in my mind that these guys have got what it needs to be known around the world for their musicianship.”, and Depth Magazine editor Kel Burch stating that  she felt “…like Cold Sanctuary has the potential to see Mirrors edge their way upward to rub shoulders with current scene ‘heroes’, and gain them further opportunities as a band.”, and The Soundcheck proclaiming that “Mirrors have harnessed a calming and controlled malice with ‘Cold Sanctuary’ that howls, roars and ultimately finds an unlikely sanctuary in its own chaos, and it’s a bold and purgative ride.”

‘Cold Sanctuary’ was Produced by Ionei Heckenberg (Ocean Sleeper), was
Mixed and Mastered by Lance Prenc (Gravemind, Alpha Wolf, Pridelands) and the Vocals were recorded by Scottie Simpson (Alpha Wolf).

Formed in late 2016 by Gippsland natives Patty Goodman (vocals) and Tyson Taifer (guitar), metalcore outfit Mirrors quickly turned the eyes and ears of Australian listeners towards Regional Victoria with the release of their debut EP “Fool’s Paradise” in 2017. The 6 track release revealed the sound and delivery of a unit that had been functioning for many years, but after a mere 12 months of their existence they were invited to play alongside Parkway Drive, Architects and many more at the hallowed Unify festival and supporting the likes of Thornhill, The Devil Wears Prada, Ocean Groveand Alpha Wolf just to name a few.

The first single and title track off the upcoming ‘Cold Sanctuary’ EP earned the band play on triple j’s Short. Fast. Loud., rotation on The Faction, an add to Spotify’s own Homegrown & Heavy playlist and Apple Music’s Heaps Heavy playlist. As well as making the rounds across Australian airwaves, in late May/early June, MIRRORS will be taking their brand new EP on the road with them in support of Alpha Wolf’s ‘Fault Tour’ alongside Daybreak.
