Fresh from returning from the Cannes Film Festival in France, where drummer Lars Ulrich mingled with Hollywood to get a distribution deal for their upcoming super movie Through The Never, the official trailer and movie poster has finally been revealed.
Giving a whole new meaning to a concert film, the story intertwines Metallica live on stage in a never before seen performance filmed exclusively for the film, while Trip, one of their young roadies, has been sent on a mission to recover a mysterious item from out front of the arena. What ensues can only be described as an apocalyptic Los Angeles landscape as chaos breaks out. Trip is caught in a riot and must escape a villainous masked horseman who is trying to thwart his attempts at returning the item he’s been sent to retrieve.
Filmed in 3D for IMAX cinemas, the concert footage was created from a purpose built stage engulfed in pyrotechnics and iconic imagery from the bands illustrious career, the 360 degree show mirrors the drama unfolding outside for young Trip.
