Metallica have just played their massive pre Super Bowl gig in San Francisco and mentioned a possible album release… soonish. Yeah we’ve been hearing about it for 18 months but every day that passes means it’s closer right? Right?
Anyhow, according to Metal Injection the band have dropped a few more hints at a possible 2016 release. Hetfield mentioned the new album: “It’s coming near the end.” He didn’t want to get people’s hopes up, saying the release is by no means imminent but they are nearing the end of recording. Lars Ulrich also said something similar, in that they would be seeing fans soon with a new record. Soon probably means soonish and soonish may mean late in the year, so don’t hold your breath but it’s on the way!
