Dark indie triad Mecha Mecha is bringing the heat in their newest woeful tale Mourning In The Evening, an epic and moody song built on the rubble of a seminal breakup. Releasing with it, is its demo, The Worst Dream.
Mourning In The Evening is deliciously dark and broody. Piano, drums, and static noise melt together to create a heavy fog of compelling gloom that settles around the vocals. Walter Anthony Webb’s voice is like a fallen angel’s, grieved and beautiful as it journeys from high notes to lows, taking a tone that shapeshifts through genres. Midway, the sombre tone of the song takes on a more upbeat rock tone, before sliding back into that sweet sorrow, drawing the listener in and keeping them on their toes.
