Maric Media Raising Funds for the Heavy Metal Truants – Bound for Download Festival

Share This:

Australian heavyweight PR Manager Chris Maric works with and represents some of the biggest metal, rock labels and promoters in the world. Including but not limited to; Century Media, Metal Blade, Season of Mist, Relapse, UDR, Destroy All Lines and many more.

Next month, Maric will be heading to Europe for the summer festival season, attending Download Festival in the UK and Hellfest in France, where many of the acts he represents will be playing. Before the fun begins though, he will be undertaking an epic 265km bike ride from London Castle to the Download Festival between the 8th and 10th June with the Heavy Metal Truants.

Last year the ride netted a massive $142,000 AUD for charity, and his year they hope to eclipse that mark.

Heavy Metal Truants is the world’s first Heavy Metal Charity Bike Race, uniting the metal community. It’s the brainchild of Metal Hammer editor-in-chief Alexander Milas and Iron Maiden Manager Rod Smallwood. The riders will ride for three days over 265km (162 Miles). There are many charities under the Truants banner, including; Nordoff Robbins, Teenage Cancer Trust, and Childline – to raise money for children who need it most.

Chris will be joined by a huge team of people from all across the music landscape, including; agents, managers, promoters, labels, artists and even members of the public to support this worthy cause. He has set up a fundraising page and the target for the campaign is at $2,500AU. If you can help out Chris and the charities it would be greatly appreciated by all! You can donate HERE.

You can follow him on his travels on Facebook and Twitter. Check out the video below to see what the riders got up to on this epic journey last year.

The Journey
Day 1: London to Luton 83km
Day 2: Luton to Leicester 138km
