Naarm/Melbourne-based rock/punk duo Mannequin Death Squad have shared their rebellious music video for Everybody’s Movin – produced by the band themselves, mixed by Brent Quirk and mastered by Matt Gray (Violent Soho, The Veronicas).
Everybody’s Movin unleashes a ruthless yet vibrant energy, framed by a vintage-style recording filter and pixilated lyric subtitles. Palpable energy centres shots of arcade scenes and candid DIY performances, seamlessly interwoven within the playful distortion of a fish-eye lens.
Mannequin Death Squad talk about the inspiration behind the music video: “‘Everybody’s Movin’ is our nineties party song. It reminds us of that era so much. So many bands from that time are incredibly influential to us, so we thought that we would honour it with a grungy fish eye lens video of us in an arcade running a mock. Taking you back to those lo-fi skate vid, candid camera, jackass on VHS kinda days. Hope you enjoy!”
