MAD SNEAKS Release New Version Of NIRVANA Classic ‘Something In The Way’

After 32 years since the release of Nevermind, even with so many beliefs that everything possible has already been created and explored in this musical aspect, power trio Mad Sneaks brings a new breath, showing that the legacy of Alternative Rock is still alive and reinventing itself.

The already sad and dark Something in the Way, the last song from Nirvana’s classic second album, gained an even darker version, played with Mandolin. In addition to the traditional bass and acoustic guitar, the song also received a melancholic texture with the addition of arrangements made with Xylophone, where each note played on the instrument’s metal bars takes the listener on an almost immersive and real journey under a bridge with drips, which is the central theme of the lyrics written by Kurt Cobain.

The single, whose release was officially authorized by Nirvana’s copyright holders, is now on all digital platforms, and was very well received both by the public and by those who were part of the scene: “I showed this version of Something in the Way to Jack Endino, even before the release, I wanted his opinion to make sure we were honoring the legacy. He listened to it and told me he really liked the song, especially the arrangements. With this ‘blessing’, we released the song with a feeling of accomplishment” – reports Agno Dissan, vocalist and guitarist of Mad Sneaks, who have already had songs worked on by Endino.
