Johannesburg-based metallic hardcore act Lower Hollow return with the first single from their upcoming REDUX album, Threnody: Songs of Perseverance—a complete reimagining of their critically acclaimed 2024 release Threnody: Songs of Fortitude.
Known for their fast, aggressive, atmospheric and heartfelt sound, Lower Hollow have carved a name for themselves across South Africa’s heavy music scene since forming in 2022. With two full-length albums, relentless touring, and a reputation for pushing genre boundaries, the band has quickly become a force in modern hardcore.
Now, Lower Hollow takes a bold step forward by re-recording Threnody with the band’s new vocalist Kathryn Georgina, following a significant lineup change earlier this year. The album has also been fully re-mastered, giving fans a version of the songs that more closely mirrors the band’s current live intensity and sonic evolution.
The first single Social Disease is out now via Mongrel Records, marking the beginning of this new chapter for Lower Hollow.
