Yuranga/Mildura-formed, Naarm/Melbourne-based indie-rock band Loose Bricks have just revealed their shimmering new single Right Now, produced and mixed by Oscar Dawson (Ali Barter, Holy Holy, Alex Lahey), and mastered by Leon Zervos at Studios 301.
A fuzz-laden intro ignites the track, before the melting vocals of frontman Levi Smith provide fluorescent melodies that polish the song’s luscious textures. Layered with groove and charisma, the song sways into an uplifting chorus, pervaded with memorable lyrics and syncopated rhythmic qualities. After suave repetition, it transitions towards an ethereal bridge riddled with reverberated stridency before returning to its familiar hook, closely followed by a hazy conclusion.
“After years of adversity experienced, from traumatic loss to remote living, ‘Right Now’ captures how far we have come along in our tough journey,” the band explains. “The song pinpoints how special it is to live in the moment and not just wait for the destination but indulge in the journey itself, to be in the ‘Right Now’.”
