Just two weeks away, the National Live Music Awards (NLMAs) are thrilled to reveal the first names set to grace stages around Australia on October 11 2023.

The NLMAs are held simultaneously in every State and Territory, with eight FREE events and more than 60 awards handed out on the night across the country.

The nominees were revealed at BIGSOUND earlier this month, with King Stingray and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard receiving six nominations apiece.

Many of those nominees will be performing at events around the country. At UC Hub, in Canberra, the nominees for Best Live Act in the ACT, ARCHIE will be joined by the nominee for Best Live Voice, Tasha Nauenburg, who will perform with her band Bad Lunar.

Nominees for Best Blues & Roots act, Sweet Talk, will be hitting the stage at the Melbourne event, joined by nominees for Best Country Act, Hana and Jessie-Lee’s Bad Habits. The night will be hosted by Mia and Sam from SYN’s The Hoist at Music Market.

At The Great Club in Sydney, Best Folk Act nominee Melody Pool will perform, as will Best Guitarist nominee Chloe Dadd, who will perform her solo project of the same name. Chloe is also known for her work with May-a and Peach PRC. Susan Heymann will be presented with her Live Legend award at this event. A special surprise guest will also perform!

In Perth, fresh off being announced as the national support for Matchbox Twenty and the Goo Goo Dolls, Siobhan Cotchin will be bringing her full band to The Bird for a very special intimate set. Siobhan has two nominations this year, for Best Country Act and Best Live Voice in WA. She will be joined by fellow nominee for Best Live Voice in WA, ANESU, a transgender rapper born in Zimbabwe & raised in Perth, drawing influences from both countries.

In Hobart, at The Simple Complex, attendees will enjoy performances from Tasmanian Best Live Act nominee Threats and two nominees for Best Live Voice, Grace Chia and Tasha Zappala. The night will be hosted by Corey Stephen from Edge Radio.

In Darwin, comedian Amy Hetherington will be the very special host for the evening, with live performances from multiple nominee Caiti Baker, and local punk/rock outfit Temperamental.

In Adelaide, Best Live Voice in SA nominee Carla Lippis will be performing with her band Carla Lippis & Mondo Psycho. Best Live Act Nominees The Empty Threats will also be performing, alongside fellow nominees Rocky’s Pride and Joy. Isaac Selby from Three D Radio will be the MC for the evening.

And finally, in Brisbane, Best Live Voice in QLD nominee Jesswar will close the evening at Stranded Bar, with Gold Coast Music Award winners Buttered opening things up.

This is but a taste of what’s to come, with the full lineup of presenters and special guests to be revealed closer to the date. Stay tuned to nlmas.com.au for more information, and head to nlmas.oztix.com.au to get tickets to any remaining events – at the time of this release going out, NSW and VIC are sold out of GA RSVPs – but limited tickets will be given away through 2SER and SYN respectively.
