Leaves Eyes have released the final saga in their album series with the recent release of The Last Viking.
The album is a sweeping, historically accurate tale centring around the last Viking and is told in a majestically metal way by a band that perfectly captures the imagery by music of an era long gone.
“It is a pretty epic journey through the life of the last Viking,” explained vocalist Elina Siirala, “it’s a concept album and I think Alex can talk more about that (laughs).”
“Musically I think the album is a very spicy, colourful album,” second vocalist Alexander Krull took over. “The saga was perfect to write epic and powerful metal songs with such a background story. The special thing is this saga isn’t just happening in one place; it’s over several countries. The thing is also for us as musicians and artists we had a bright field of inspiration to write our music.”
