Melbourne-based punk/pop band KTV originally formed in the late 90s, put together by singer/songwriter/guitarist, Kat O, whose Riot Grrrl roots stretch back to supporting Sleater-Kinney on their first tour of Australia.
KTV released two EPs, Channel Surfing (1999) and High Volume Definition (2000) which was produced by Lindsay Gravina (Living End, Spiderbait). The band played a ton of gigs and won music industry competitions at the time; playing shows with bands like Killing Heidi and Magic Dirt. After numerous line-up changes, they ran out of steam in 2001.
KTV sprung back into action in 2025 with original member Philip Yarra on bass/vocals, who toured with UK Ska legends Bad Manners on their last tour of Australia and the drumming prowess of John Hastings. KTV released their comeback single Melt in 2025 to positive reviews and strong community radio airplay. Now, while they work on their third EP, they follow up Melt with a newly written single All Over Now, a melodic punk/pop song with hints of Motown. KTV launch the song with an instore performance at Desert Highways on Sunday November 8 at 2pm.
