Melbourne-based punk/pop band KTV originally formed in the late 90s, put together by singer/ songwriter/guitarist, Kat O, whose previous Riot Grrrl band Sulk, supported Sleater-Kinney on their first tour of Australia. After numerous line-up changes, they ran out of steam in 2001. Kat went on to form Kathematics, who had a song featured in an American Disney TV show, as well as many other bands.
KTV sprung back into action in 2025 with original member Philip Yarra on bass/vocals, who toured with UK Ska legends Bad Manners on their last tour of Australia and the drumming prowess of John Hastings.
Armed with a back catalogue of original 90s-inspired punk/pop classics, as well as Kat’s new tunes, KTV continue to make a dent on the local live scene, including being asked to be main support for Moler’s single launch and releasing their comeback single Melt in November 2025.
2026 plans include Melt being included on a new Popboomerang Records compilation, the recording of an EP and heaps more shows, including interstate. The video clip for Melt is out now.
