Jet, one of the most celebrated rock bands to come out of Australia, has announced an exclusive run of dates this September to mark the 20th anniversary of their seminal debut album, Get Born.
Embarking on their first band shows in five years, Jet will play Get Born in full, re-visiting the incredible tracklist that won them fans right across the world – including timeless tracks such as Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Look What You’ve Done, Rollover DJ and Get Me Outta Here, songs that sound as invigorating today as they did 20 years ago.
Reflecting on the album, Nic Cester (vocals, guitar) said, “Get Born was a rare and unique moment of total planetary alignment where we somehow managed to capture lighting in a bottle.”
Mark Wilson (bass) said “I don’t remember much about the actual day Get Born was released. I think we were in Pittsburgh. I’m sure we celebrated, but to be honest we celebrated every night back in those days. 2003 was one big blurry haze for me.”
The tour will commence on September 22 at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre, followed by Hindley Street Music Hall, Adelaide on September 23, Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on September 29 and concluding at Enmore Theatre Sydney on September 30.
Live Nation pre-sale commences Thursday, June 15 at 10am, running for 24 hours.
General public tickets go on sale Friday, June 16 at 11am, head to www.livenation.com.au.
