Songwriter Jeremy Joyce has been through the ringer and has a new sound to prove it.
With Bad Kid, Joyce returns to his South Florida rehab hard-rock roots and releases some serious frustration as newfound New Orleans alter-ego JJ Shred. The two singles – which were released on January 17 – provide a cathartic, ripping response to a difficult year of being ripped to shreds himself. Bad Kid offers up a Springsteen-esque narrative about a life gone sideways in 90s hardcore fashion, while TakeAlookAtYoSelf healthily dishes it back to a trash-talking dirtbag.
Having evolved from previous “good fun” project JJ Shreds & the Chompers, JJ Shred is serious about rock. In music circles across the US, Jeremy Joyce is known for two things—guitar prowess and songwriting abilities that have established him as a Renaissance man of genre.
