Japam just premiered their second single “Sickboy Wants A Hotdog” with an accompanying video from their upcoming EP ‘Sickboy‘ due out April 12, pre-orders live now.

Japam are bringing back the bounce with ‘Sickboy’! Mixed and mastered by Taylor Larson (PeripheryFrom First to LastVeil of Maya and Asking Alexandria) at Oceanic Recording, the EP combines influences from the heavy, technical groove of modern progressive music to the melodic appeal of 90’s pop and rock music. Japam create an energetic and infectious soundscape, sure to please a vast array of keen music listeners.

Where the bands last musical offering “Roak” demonstrated relentlessly heavy tones, “Sickboy Wants A Hotdog” is straight up fun! The song portrays the humorous and light-hearted side of the band that we’ve all come to know and love, and offers a little something for both the non-musical listener and those more musically inclined. The music video that accompanies compliments the fun vibe of the track with a Guitar Hero play-through that sees each member having the time of their life jamming with their fellow band mates.

HEAVY Mag gave a rave review of the upcoming EP and said…“You get a feeling from listening to this new EP that Japam are on the brink of delivering a debut feature length that is going to make the whole of Australia sit up and take notice. This epic sounding EP once again shows that these guys are a band to watch.”

Japam – Which is either the applied use of a mantra, or a drunken mispronunciation deemed too good to pass up as a band name, is the brainchild of Adelaide songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Seb Hudson. Seb’s desire to take his popular online recordings to the live stage began with the initiation of vocalist Ryan Lucivero. Soon after, Ben Whitehorn filled the role as bass player/hype man, and Jack Thomson, with his commanding drumming style and experience through his many projects added an air of authority to the rhythm section. Early 2015 the need for a second guitarist was made apparent, so Japam recruited long haired lout, Andreas Murphy, formerly of Soft White Machine… and thus, the fold was complete.

In the infancy of the band’s career, they’ve already earned themselves props in the underground through airtime on multiple radio stations nationwide including Triple J’s The RacketAndrew Haug RadioTriple J UnearthedTriple J Lunch show, rotation on The Faction and a play on RAGE.

Japam’s new single “Sickboy Wants A Hotdog” is out Friday April 5th. Album pre-orders for the Sickboy EP live at https://ffm.to/japamsickboy – both will be available at all good digital stores and streaming outlets.
