J-FIGURE Invited To Share Stage With BRING ME THE HORIZON

Share This:

Oli Sykes from Bring Me The Horizon invited Australian trap metal legend J-Figure (The Weight Of Silence) on stage in Sydney earlier this week to sing Antivist, and he had the entire 20,000-strong audience eating out of the palm of his hand. Halfway through the song J-Figure encouraged the crowd to split down the middle, all the way to the sides to make the biggest wall of death of the evening.

When asked about the surprise experience, J-Figure said, “I was so nervous. So many emotions came over me and all I could think about was remember the lyrics. After meeting Oli and shaking his hand I couldn’t hold back how nervous I was, but I tried to overcome it. I then just related it back to playing with my band (The Weight of Silence) as if it was a normal show, but just playing in front of 20 thousand people (laughs).

Once it started, I just took hold of the moment and tried to take it all in before it was gone. I mean, Oli suggested a wall of death and I couldn’t agree more. I’m staring at thousands of people jumping around; what better moment than to call a huge wall of death and take full control? I was just in the moment.

The reaction I’ve seen online has been nothing short of amazing, I never expected to share a stage with my main vocal inspiration and for people to actually think I sounded good, well, that’s even better.”

When asked how he thinks this will affect his band The Weight of Silence J-Figure simply responded “well, we have already been offered a headlining gig in Sydney which we have accepted, so things are already moving!”
