I Killed The Prom Queen Sign To Epitaph

Share This:

After a six year album hiatus, the metalcore quintet are back to unleash their third offering through Epitaph Records.

Originally founded in 1980 by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz, as a means for distributing Bad Religion CDs, Epitaph Records now boasts the likes of Converge, Every Time I Die, Social Distortion as well as Australian peers Parkway Drive. With the addition of I Killed The Prom Queen, Epitaph have secured themselves yet another major Australian band.

Following his stint with Bring Me The Horizon, songwriter and guitarist Jona Weinhofen returns to his
role in I Killed The Prom Queen and states:

We are absolutely ecstatic to join the Epitaph Records family. Having worked with the label
previously with Bring Me The Horizon, I knew exactly what Epitaph was capable of and that it would
be the perfect home for I Killed The Prom Queen.
.”

I Killed The Prom Queen has just recently finished recording for their as yet untitled third album. Recording took place with renowned producer Fredrik Nordström (Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, At The Gates). Set for release sometime in 2014, Jona continues with an enthusiastic response to notions of the new album:

We are dying to get this album out and into the hands of old and new I Killed The Prom Queen fans everywhere. To me this record feels as though I Killed The Prom Queen never took a break and is a natural progression of the band. You will hear hints of our side projects and new influences, but make no mistake, this is an I Killed The Prom Queen record through and through.”

The band will embark on an Australian tour later this month. Catch up on hardcore history and reacquaint yourself I Killed The Prom Queen’s teaser video here
