Hollywood Vampires to Pay Tribute to Lemmy at 2016 Grammy Awards

On a night that most HEAVY music fans would ignore completely or at the most sit there annoyed throwing peanuts at the TV, it seems we finally have good reason to sit through all the blowhards and mouth-breathers this year.

Hollywood Vampires will be paying tribute to Lemmy, most likely in the form of Ace of Spades according to the bands frontman Alice Cooper: “I might do it more ‘Alice Cooper style,’ but it would still have to have that growl, that guttural voice to make it work. I can’t picture, like, Creedence Clearwater doing that song.”

According to Rolling Stone Magazine the band, featuring Johnny Depp (doing his best Keith Richards impression) Duff McKagan and Joe Perry will also be premiering a new song called As Bad as I Am. “We started this band as a means to toast our ‘dead drunk friends’ at the Rainbow, all the ghosts in the bar, and now I guess Lemmy is involved in that, too,” Cooper told Rolling Stone.

Lemmy was one of those salt-of-the-earth guys,” Cooper says. “Find me somebody who didn’t love Lemmy. He’s just one of those guys that’s impossible not to like.”

Remarkably, in 2015 Tenacious D beat out Anthrax, Mastodon, Motorhead and Slipknot to take home the not-so-coveted Grammy for “Best Metal Performance.” It’s almost enough to rage quit life but NO, we shall push on. This year’s nominees include August Burns Red, Ghost, Lamb of God, Sevendust and Slipknot.

You can tune in on 15 February 2016 (Pacific Time) to check out the Hollywood Vampires in action.
