Hitting The Ground Running With TETRAMENT

Share This:

Although Brisbane hardcore outfit Tetrament have been slaying them on the local touring circuit for a little while now, the band has yet to release their debut single to reach the ears of more than those standing in front of them. They have built a fearsome reputation on the back of their frenetic and intense live performances, progressively drawing larger numbers each time their name is attached to a show.

Today, the band looks to further their reach with the release of their first single Lifeless, a short, sharp, aggressive burst of energy that neatly wraps what Tetrament have to offer in one chaotic package.

Vocalist Matty and guitarist Sammy joined HEAVY to chat about the track.

“Basically we had a couple of choices of songs to go for when it came to our first release, and we thought we’d go for something short and heavy, kick the door in style,” Matty offered. “I had the lyrics and Sammy played a riff that blew my tits off when I first heard it, and we mashed them together and came out with what we thought was a pretty banging track. It was a quick one, and we thought it would make a good starting point.”

“Kind of like a train derailing,” Sammy added, laughing.

In the full interview, the boys talk us through Lifeless, the lyrical content, choosing a debut single, the process for selecting a song to represent the band, having Clint Vincent from Dead Letter Circus mix and master the song, their upcoming EP and more.

Lifeless will premiere August 19 at 8.00 am AEST
