After spending five days on the road with Diskust, Piston Fist and Awake In Time I have come to the absolute realisation that Australian metal is in for a massive 2021.
Not only can overseas artists not get in to the country, the work ethic and talent of our homegrown artists is reaching a level where it is almost at the point that we don’t need international artists! Of course, they will always be welcome but from the perspective that Aussie bands can be just as entertaining and all-consuming, I think this is the year that we finally prove that to the world.
This week we have a featured interview with Diskust who have just dropped the awesome single “Cut-Throat”. In what is a brutally honest and confronting look at how his band is perceived, vocalist Bodine Antrobus reaffirms the status of local musicians that we are who we are and if you don’t like it then…
Emmy Mack from Redhook drops in to talk about The Other Festival and we feature interviews with thrash masters Hidden Intent and newcomers Distorted Views about their latest tunes.
Electric Universe premiere their latest rock number from New Zealand and there is new music from the above bands plus Werewolves and Wolf & Chain.
Housefox Studios present the first of a monthly series for 2021 focussing on Australian bands, with Mountain Wizard Death Cult in the spotlight for round one.
We have information on how to win a Kirk Hammett guitar through our good mates at Groglords plus al the news on the Full Tilt Festival making its way to Melbourne.
Mysterious newcomers EOS have dropped their first slab of music and David Griffiths provides the low-down on that.
From this week forward the Australian Artists Digi-mag will be released on Saturday’s rather than Friday’s, just to let you more ease into your weekend before being smashed by your favourite local bands.
Thanks for the support, until next week – stay HEAVY
