Having spent just over four decades touring the globe as a front man Geoff has found himself in a unique situation being a part of Avantasia “it’s a very odd experience, he just says here! go!, do your thing” “He’s so unselfish and confident in what he does, he doesn’t feel insecure” Geoff adds when discussing the freedoms Tobia’s gives all the artists that a part of the stage show!

Whilst discussing all things music with Geoff the question had to be asked on what is happening with Operation: Mind Crime as the album itself has recently turned 30! Geoff and his band have toured the United States and Europe, but what about touring Australia? “Well I sure hope so, the album tour has toured in 24 countries and is actually still going on!” “It wasn’t meant to go on this long but the promoters keep calling!” “There are no plans to come out to Australia yet simply because I haven’t been contacted by a promoter or have a contact for one” “A lot of people don’t understand but bands have to brought out by the promoter”.
So here lays an opportunity for an Australian promoter/ booker to bring out Geoff Tate and his band to continue celebrating the epic Queensrÿche (1988) Operation: Mind Crime album live!…. it would be great to see this happen I’m sure we can all agree!
