One more time for the dummy halves; it’s been a red-hot minute since Northern Rivers rockers Hammers unleashed their sophomore EP, with the formidable six tracks that is Kicking Goals released during a particularly hairy time in human history, back in August of 2020. But while the pandemic delivered a swift metaphorical kick in the guts to the music industry (and to the release of the band’s latest EP), the Hammers gents aren’t missing the opportunity to properly christen Kicking Goals, with the quartet today announcing The Try Again Tour, complete with seven scorching shows locked and loaded to kick off later this month.
Providing a chance at long last to tour their most recent sonic endeavour, aka the 2020 EP Kicking Goals, The Try Again Tour will also offer fans a chance to witness some of the EP’s tracks live in action for the very first time. Lauded for its polished riot, honesty, heaviness and hilarious heart, Kicking Goals traverses tales of empowering revenge (Suze), robbing a butchers shop (Silly Sausage), the riotous tradition of cracker night (Cracker Night) and losing one’s head in the presence of an attractive human (Guilty Pleasures). Complete with elements of punk, sludge, pub rock and plenty of Aussie spitfire spirit, Hammers throw the kitchen sink into every corner of their six track opus, with tinges from the likes of He Is Legend, Every Time I Die, Alice In Chains and beyond to whet the appetite of any rock’n’roll lover.
