US rock/punk outfit The Reckless have released the single Away. Is it any good?

Starting with light static, the film clip sees four masked gentlemen looking like former US Presidents shaking hands around a drum kit before picking up their respective instruments and getting to work.
It’s a rollicking fun track from the outset, a funky bass line setting the tone beautifully.
The tempo is frenetic, but the vocals ensure things don’t veer too far into hardcore punk territory. Instead, they are more of the rock leanings, combining well with the punk instrumentalization to create a catchy and fresh sound that drips with guilty pleasure.
It powers on maintaining the same pace but, unusually, doesn’t become bogged down in its own self-importance. There’s enough subtle breakdowns throughout to break the monotony, with an especially cool slower interlude around the two-and-a-half minute mark that allows the track to gradually climb in intensity until it almost reaches boiling point.
Rather than let the sudden burst of energy consume the remainder of the song, The Reckless bring things down once more before ending in a sea of guitar and static that takes our journey almost full circle.
