GOOD THINGS FESTIVAL Roll Call: RELIQA

Are you ready for the madcap chaos of Australia’s largest travelling music festival? Good Things season returns with a head-spinning line-up fit for a fever dream. Across three East Coast dates, this year’s Good Things Festival will deliver a trip down the rabbit hole with a stacked bill of international heavyweights, old favourites, hungry up-and-comers, and Aussie staples. And in a boon for younger attendees, Sydney’s Centennial Park festival date will be a 16+ event for the first time!

In the lead-up to Good Things 2024, HEAVY will be running a small feature on the bands playing so you can get up to speed before the big day. Today we bring you Reliqa.

Rising from the Sydney underground, Reliqa have become one of Australia’s most exciting new prospects, supporting everyone from Make Them Suffer and Spiritbox to Dayseeker and BABYMETAL. With every new experience, they have endeavoured to bottle everything they felt and feed off it as much as possible as they look to the next milestone. Early 2024 saw the band ink a deal with Greyscale Records (AUS) and Nuclear Blast Records (ROW) and embark on a headlining tour around the country, remembering exactly how it felt to watch their dreams playing out before them and using it as a light as they venture into the unknown.

Those lessons learnt and that life lived find their way into their debut full-length album, Secrets Of The Future. An album that speaks to where you have been and looks forward to where you are heading, it is the sound of a band leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of complete musical expression. Taking the most savage and passionate elements that make modern metalcore such an institution, then throwing lashings of electronica, pop, prog and post-hardcore in for the thrill of it, the result is ferocious, forward-thinking and, most importantly, fun.

Focus track Killstar (The Cold World).
