Goat Coffin are a Melbourne-based two-piece formed by Mortifex (vocals/guitar) and Tilegrinder (drums/vocals). Possessed by the evil spirits of the unholy Goat, this two-piece are eternal outcasts forging ritualistic, devil’s music from the margins of hell. Sacrifice the Rich Kids of North Fitzroy is the band’s debut single. Inspired by the sound of a $14 oat flat white hitting bluestone laneways, the track is a ritualistic takedown of gentrification and artisanal sourdough, aimed squarely at disenfranchising the next generation of trust-fund cultural critics.
The music video was shot in Edinburgh Gardens and directed by ARIA Award-nominated director Sunny Leunig (Courtney Barnett, Paul Kelly, Bag Raiders). It draws on a local urban legend about the mysterious satanic sacrifices said to take place at this iconic North Fitzroy location.
