Ghost have come up trumps at the Grammys, winning an award for ‘Best Metal Performance.’ They beat out opposition that included; Lamb of God, Slipknot and Sevendust.
Once again though, metal was thrown in as an afterthought during a non-televised part of the ceremony. Despite the boffins at Grammy HQ attempting to get the metal category full of metal bands this year (what a novel idea) Putting the award on during a non-televised spot is still fairly insulting to the genre.
Sure, it’s easy to say ‘who cares about the Grammys?’ But, it would be nice for HEAVY music to be acknowledged in a sincere manner for a change, it seems they have failed at that again. I’m sure next year will be different…RIGHT?
