Set amongst the lush bushland confines of Dashville, in the Hunter Valley, Thrashville returns, ready for a one day explosion of punk, rock, metal and all in between, on the darkest, firiest day of the year, Saturday, June 27, 2026.
This years line-up is a cracker, with FEAR (USA), Disentomb, The Bennies, Dregg, Hybrid Nightmares, Turtle Skull, Good Sniff, Private Wives, Couch Wizard, Catpiss, Purple Disturbance, Pyrefly, Whisperhead, Happy Fuckin Family, Immortal Within, I Hate People and Shacked! all set to deliver a great weekend of live entertainment.
HEAVY sent each band a short Q&A in order to get to know them a bit better. Today we get better acquainted with Disentomb.
HEAVY: THRASHVILLE 2026 is nearly upon us. Have you ever been to Thrashville before as a punter or performing?
DISENTOMB: I’ve never been, but have always wanted to spend time in the Hunter Valley so there really is no better way to do it than performing and also seeing the crazy lineup of bands we have the honour of sharing the stage with.
H: What does it mean to you to be playing Thrashville?
D: As a band, we are completely stoked. When it comes to alternative music in any forms, we are proud to fly the flag on the more brutal side of things. We’re massive music fans, so there’s a lot of bands like Fear and Hybrid Nightmares that we are keen on catching their sets too.
H: How important are festivals like Thrashville for Australian bands?
D: It cannot be understated how important it is for festivals like Thrashville to exist. The quality of alternative music in Australia is among the best in the world, and if we as a scene and country want to make sure that fans as well as emerging bands have these opportunities, then we need to support them.
H: Which bands are you most looking forward to and why?
D: Fear from the US in particular! Their live shows have always been talked about and that’s one we all don’t want to miss!
H: It’s a long day of music. What will you be doing to make sure you will still be standing come your set time?
D: Energy drinks, beers and hanging out with mates keeps the vibes going! So I’m sure we’ll be in a good spot by the time we hit the stage.
H: Give me your Top 3 Festival survival tips.
D: Drink water, respect others, have fun!
H: Which band – other than yourself – do you think will get up to the most mischief on the day?
D: Again, I think it’ll be interesting to see what Fear will be getting up to! Theres always quite eclectic people in this music scene, so no doubt there will be people putting on a show on and off the stage.
H: What song do you think the crowd would want you to play to finish your set and what are you going to play?
D: Vultures Descend is one of our more popular songs, but we have a surprise for everyone on the day.
H: What one song would you tell festival goers to listen to of yours if they haven’t heard you play before?
D: Go listen to Vultures Descend, but I’d say seeing the music live is a whole other experience.
H: What is your most recent release?
D: In 2024 we released an EP called Nothing Above.
H: Finally, what plans does your band have for the rest of 2026?
D: We have a new album in the works and it’s going to absolutely crush! Keep an ear out.
