Thrashville returns to the lush bushland of Dashville in Lower Belford, Hunter Valley, on Saturday, 27 June 2026. Celebrated as the region’s heaviest music gathering, this inclusive, single-day outdoor festival delivers a high-energy feast of punk, hard rock, and heavy metal across four vibrant stages.
Following a medical cancellation by US punk band FEAR, homegrown legends Cosmic Psychos will headline the powerhouse lineup alongside premier acts like Disentomb, The Bennies, and Dregg. Beyond the music, attendees can enjoy pro-skateboarding displays, a walk-in tattoo parlour, live graffiti art, local food, and onsite camping.
HEAVY sent each band a short Q&A in order to get to know them a bit better. Today we get better acquainted with Shacked!
Shacked! is a turbo-charged, five-piece psychedelic surf punk band emerging from the Darkinjung/Central Coast region of New South Wales. Fusing a raw DIY attitude with oddball swagger, they describe their chaotic soundscape as a delicate balance between massive, apocalyptic riffs and sludgy, layered textures. They draw heavy stylistic inspiration from alternative icons like DEVO, King Gizzard, and Osees.
The group is famous for their high-intensity live shows and signature glowing neon-green outfits. Rising quickly on the Triple J Unearthed scene with tracks like Insect Dissection, they cemented their momentum by releasing their second album, Binate Globality and so forth…, while touring heavily across Australia.

Q & A
HEAVY: THRASHVILLE 2026 is nearly upon us. Have you ever been to Thrashville before as a punter or performing?
SHACKED!: Never been to Thrashville or performed. We came close to winning a slot in the band comp last year, so we are stoked we got asked this year!
What does it mean to you to be playing Thrashville?
All the boys are so keen. We’ve seen the lineups since the band was young and are so happy to be going AND playing with all the other sick bands.
How important are festivals like Thrashville for Australian bands?
The bush and more rural gigs/fezzies are always so sick. Everyone you meet is really loose, you get to meet and see so many cool bands you haven’t heard of before. We’ve just dipped our toes into playing these type of shows, and we’re overjoyed to add Thrashville onto the list.
Which bands are you most looking forward to and why?
Purple Disturbance have played with some of our other bands, and they are so much fun and rock it hard. Keen for I Hate People to show us how to punk properly. Few of the boys caught them at The Link n Pin in Woy Woy last year and frothed em.
It’s a long day of music. What will you be doing to make sure you will still be standing come your set time?
Plenty of food and water. Bit of resting. Probably a swim in a river if there’s one nearby.
Give me your Top 3 Festival survival tips
Drink Water. Have enough food. Bring a lil guy with you around.
Which band – other than yourself – do you think will get up to the most mischief on the day?
Purple Disturbance are bound to break something expensive.
What song do you think the crowd would want you to play to finish your set, and what are you going to play?
The crowd would probably want us to finish with Insect Dissection, but we might close with a suite of
unreleased songs that flow really nicely into each other.
What one song would you tell festival goers to listen to of yours if they haven’t heard you play before?
Nothing Out There. Very much shows off our psyche punk/rock chops.
What is your most recent release?
Our Live at the Grove session.
Finally, what plans does your band have for the rest of 2026?
We are chipping away at album 3 and hope to get it out by the end of the year, along with a tour up and down the coast.
