GERLING Celebrate 25 Years Of WHEN YOUNG TERRORISTS CHASE THE SUN With Special Re-Issue

Warner Music Australia celebrates the 25th Anniversary 2LP Edition of Gerling‘s ARIA-nominated 2001 masterpiece When Young Terrorists Chase The Sun with a deluxe 2LP vinyl reissue, due for release Friday November 6. The album, originally released on Festival Mushroom in Australia, Sony in Japan, Flying Nun in New Zealand and Infectious in the UK, has never before been released on vinyl. It was a landmark release for the young and genre-defying Sydney trio, and one that was surrounded by controversy and angst through the most unfortunate of circumstances.

Originally set for a September 16, 2001, release, the record was already in the warehouse when the Twin Towers came down on September 11. Perhaps surprisingly the album title survived – although it was changed to Headzcleaner for release in the Northern Hemisphere—but the artwork was changed and the release delayed. Remarkably, it hit the stores only a week or so late.

To celebrate the album’s 25th Anniversary, its first-ever vinyl appearance will be as a double LP featuring beautifully reimagined artwork alongside five bonus tracks. The never-before-heard gems freshly unearthed from the band’s personal archives include the long-lost studio version of live favourite Deep Fryer, an instrumental version of Brother Keith of Destructor Mountain, and remixes from Cornelius, Jacques Lu Cont and Riton.
