George Marios is proving that timing means nothing when passion hits. Despite early encouragement, he didn’t fully connect with music until age 16, when discovering S&M by Metallica flipped a switch. From that moment, music became everything.
By 17, he had moved to the north of England to study at Leeds College of Music, quickly gaining attention for his imaginative and impressive guitar work. What began as an instrumental focus soon evolved into songwriting and vocals, driven by a need for deeper expression and a love for words.
His debut album Daffodil showcased a bold mix of anthemic rock with alternative and progressive influences, exploring themes of struggle, failure, and redemption. The release earned widespread acclaim, including a 9/10 rating from Guitarist Magazine. Alongside his solo work, George also toured as lead guitarist for The Pineapple Thief, contributing to their live releases Hold Our Fire and Nothing but the Truth.
Now, George is entering a new chapter with his latest single Crash Burn–a powerful, anthemic alt-rock track that stands as a tribute to the underdog. Written during a turbulent time in his life, the song reflects a period where daily existence felt overwhelming. In a departure from his usual writing approach, George challenged himself to step outside that emotional cycle, instead crafting a narrative of resilience and courage.
The result is a track that urges listeners to confront fear head-on, grounded in the idea that the fears we face shape us, while those we avoid continue to haunt us. Musically, Crash Burn blends colourful guitar solos, massive riffs, and dynamic twists, drawing clear inspiration from bands like Alter Bridge, Dream Theater, and Extreme.
The single is accompanied by a cinematic, DIY music video inspired by classics such as The Karate Kid and Rocky, a creative challenge that has become one of Georges’ most rewarding projects to date.
Crash Burn is the third single from his upcoming sophomore album Accidental Hero, following Your Heart and Somewhere to Be, both of which have already received strong praise from fans and critics alike. Slated for release in 2026, the album promises an expansive fusion of anthemic rock, orchestral soundtrack elements, and alternative influences.
