FRANKENBOK To Release Single ‘The Avalanche In Me’ With Original LineUp

Melbourne metal legends Frankenbok will release the single The Avalanche In Me this Tuesday, November 8 and will premiere via HEAVY at 10 am AEDT.

But it’s a release with a twist.

The Avalanche In Me is the first single taken from the new album of material from the original Frankenbok lineup of Azza Bok, Adam Glynn, Mick Morley, Scott Lang and Tim Miedecke.

The Ex-Files Volume 1 – out on November 30 – features seven previously unreleased studio tracks and 11 live tracks performed by that line-up, captured by Che Whyte at Frankenbok’s now infamous System Of A Down support at The Palace on January 27, 2002.

“So, I’m going through all this old Bok stuff that Azza has brought over and I pick up this disc and look at the song titles on the back and realise that I don’t know any of the song names,” explained current Frankenbok vocalist Dan McDougall. “It was a demo that they had recorded with Ritchie from Dreadnaught for Roadrunner Records to showcase their new material done by the original line-up. There are songs on there that ended up on Blood Oath, but have Hutchy doing completely different vocals. There’s songs that have never seen the light of day. Absolute ripper songs. And it sounds unreal. For someone who is a massive fan of the original lineup and has a record label, this is nothing short of PURE GOLD. All I could think was that this has to come out. This has to!

On top of that, I also found a disc that has their full set from the now infamous System Of A Down support at The Palace back in 2002,” he continued. “From all accounts, The Bok wiped the floor with them that night, and now I have the disc to prove it. The mix starts off a bit rough, but by the second song it’s all sitting just right and the sound is great and the performance even better. This is the original lineup absolutely at their best and totally on their game.

And with that, I give you THE EX-FILES VOLUME 1. Seven unreleased studio tracks and eleven live tracks from the original lineup. The album will be out on November 30 on all streaming platforms and Bandcamp. Pre-orders with new merch and hard copies will be going live next week, along with a new film clip. And to top it all off, the artwork for the album and merch was done by original singer Hutchy.

This material has been sitting in a box, gathering dust and scratches for 20 fucking years. No longer shall that be the case. This is something that all Bok fans, both old and new should have in their collection.”

On November 30, FRANKENBOK will be releasing an album titled THE EX FILES VOL. 1 out through Fair Dinkum Records.

This is the first in a series of “side” releases that the band might be putting out in the future, and is a body of work that falls into the timeline between THE LOOPHOLE & GREAT EXCUSES EP and BLOOD OATH

The album is a bunch of first era previously unreleased studio and live tracks and are some (but not all) of the last recordings from the original lineup of Azza Bok, Tim Finish Him, Scott Lang, Mick Morley and Adam Glynn.

PRE-ORDER MERCH AND HARD COPY BUNDLES AVAILABLE FROM 10/11/22 – OUT ON ALL STREAMING PLATFORMS 30/11/22.
