The multi-platinum hard rock band Five Finger Death Punch, have announced that they will be releasing their highly anticipated seventh full-length studio album, And Justice For None, on May 18 via Eleven Seven / Sony Music Australia.

Fans can expect two additional songs to be revealed on April 20 and May 4 before the official album release of And Justice For None on May 18. Previously released tracks, Trouble and Gone Away, are already available as instant-grat tracks with the pre-order.

Five Finger Death Punch’s current single, Gone Away (their own rendition of The Offspring’s 1997 hit single) has received over 7.89 million streamsover 19 million video views on YouTube and topped the iTunes rock and metal charts globally. Check out the official video for Gone Away and the lyric video.

Opening with the previously released “Trouble” this deluxe album grabs you by the scruff of the neck and just does not want to let go. The riffs batter down your front door and the vocals either take you to melodic heaven or downright angry, hell. So it’s classic 5FDP And‘ there is indeed “Justice for None“.  The band have come a long way in their career, including stops at rehab for some, but they are out the other side now and producing some of their finest work to date. There is a maturity in the songwriting, that clearly shows that they are happy within themselves, even if the lyrics are as angry as ever.

“Fake”, and “Top of the World”  are the first 2 new tracks on the LP and continue in the same vein as “Trouble” and as such are full on riff-laden monsters that will have you stomping around the room a la vocalist Ivan Moody. “Sham-Pain” is a clear dig at the those who have doubted and criticised the band. In a recent interview guitarist, Zoltan Bathory stated that its  “a lyrical snapshot of probably the biggest, yet mthe ost chaotic year of this band’s career.”

The Ballad “Blue on Black” could easily have been included in the soundtrack to the biker epic “Sons of Anarchy” and as such brings a welcome rest form the aural assault.  This is something that the band are really good at. Sure they can produce the metal mayhem but what makes this album so accessible is the band’s ability to write really powerful slower tunes that give the listener the chance to really appreciate the songwriting and musicality on show. “When Season Change” is a great example of this, driven by an acoustic accompaniment and a keyboard wash  Moody’s vocals compliment the song perfectly.

Overall this is a fantastic LP. Cleverly put together to give you the highs and lows that we have come to expect from 5FDP, it’s a musical journey that will have you listening to it over and over again. It’s classic 5FDP using their well-oiled formula and long may they continue with it.
