Since their formation in 2023, Famous Strangers‘ signature blend of haunting melodies, powerful vocals, and immersive soundscapes has captivated listeners. The band brings together accomplished musicians whose past experiences in various musical projects have shaped their collective sound.

HEAVY recently caught up with the band via Q&A.
HEAVY: At what point did the creative process start for your most recent release, and what were your initial ideas about how it should sound/be?
FS: Our recent release L.S.C. started at the beginning of this year. The riffs came out of nowhere and caught us off guard to the point where we put aside a ton of other songs to focus and release this one. The lyrics came quickly, also with the idea to write about how some bugs mate. The whole idea that they mate then kill their partner. We thought it was a cool concept and pretty metal. We wanted to lure the audience in, starting off slow.. then layer by layer, tearing in deeper until it gets heavier and heavier!
H: What was the journey like from that point to the final/finished release? Can you tell us a bit more about the creative journey?
FS: It was really exciting and happened so fast. Right when we got the structure of the song finalised, it was right into the studio for us! We were definitely nervous and also as ready as we could have been. Working with Phil Anderson, Joel Wanasek, and Maor Appelbaum was an incredible experience and taught us so much that we take what we’ve learned into our practice to this day. We are so Thankful for them and what they did for our song! It has been so fun turning an idea into reality, and a dream come true!
H: How did you get to the release title, and what does it mean to you?
FS: We came up with the title after we wrote the lyrics for bugs mate then kill, so it all just came together. We have yet to tell anyone what L.S.C. means, but ppl have gotten close. One guy bribed me and said he would buy a t-shirt if I told him so …. I guess you’ll just have to be patient.
It means everything to us, the help we received and the support from everyone. We are overwhelmed with excitement and ready to show the world more of our art. We feel really good about this release, showing off our light and heavy side.
H: What do you want your latest release to do for the representation of your band/project?
FS: Our Music is all over the place genre-wise wise so for L.S.C. particularly, we would love to hype people up! I’m sure it would be a cool song to work out to. Maybe once the song gets heavier it can push that person into one more rep or even push anyone, inspiring them in whatever they are doing. Alluring and Terrifying at the same time, we hope it gives listeners the chill,s but leaving them wanting more. We want to show the audience softness and grit being unpredictable with our Sound and hopefully reaching people in parts of their Soul they’ve never known.
H: Tough question time. What was the most rewarding moment when putting together your latest release, and why?
FS: The Journey is always so amazing… alot of work and it’s worth it. Once everything is finalized and comes out into the world it’s such a trip to see it come to life! What once was an idea in our minds now we share our insides for everyone to observe. I think the whole process is the best. I think musicians love to be busy with their craft otherwise we start to feel restless. So the whole process start to finish is bliss. We feel very lucky to be able to do this and are always hungry for more.
H: Finally, what else can we expect to see from you as we head into 2026?
FS: We are so busy right now, creating deadlines and planning nonstop. We are heading into the studio soon here. Also releasing another Music video. Of course, booking all the shows and so excited to see you all soon! Thank you so much for this interview, Sending Love!
