With 150 high profile music industry leaders working in fields including label management, events, PR, recording, media and performance, all set to donate their time to meet people, provide advice and discuss new ideas. A sneak peak into the forthcoming announcement includes; ARIA’s Dan Rosen, Jess Beston of Tiny Monster, Australian music entrepreneur Bruce Milne, artist Cash Savage, John Watson of Eleven / John Watson Management, Sophie Miles of Mistletone Records, Peter Karpin of Universal Music Australia, Kim Carter of Rockstar Management, Dr Ianto Ware of the National Live Music Office, Darren Levin (Faster Louder/Mess+Noise), Marcus Teague (The Vine), Tim Morrison of Trial Kennedy, Nic Warnock of RIP Society / Repressed Records, Markus Popp of Oval (Germany) and Ross Knight from the Cosmic Psychos.

For 2013, topics will explore interesting new approaches to staple activities such as marketing and release strategies, artist management, booking gigs, recording techniques, and taking your music to a global music market. As well as fresh sessions on current trends such as the resurgence of vinyl, reality talent shows, the power of moving pictures and the algorithms of streaming.

This year Face The Music will partner with Arts Centre Melbourne’s Digital Learning Hub to expand the stream of creative-development workshops and masterclasses on offer. The sessions will include hands-on music making, songwriting, beat-making and interactive recording studio skills. The Digital Learning Hub is a leader in music, sound and media technology.

The format for Face The Music 2013 will include forums, presentations, networking, facilitated meetings, practical music workshops and the return of Face The Music 2012’s popular session, the debate. Face The Music 2013 is a MUST on the music industry calendar for anyone looking to further develop their music careers on or off the stage.
