EXITWOUNDS ‘Visions’

Share This:

ExitWounds are back with a brand new recording and once again show why they are going to be the next big thing in heavy music. They have been a band on many people’s radars for awhile now and after just one listen to their brand new Visions EP will have you knowing exactly what people have seen in them. This is the kind of album that you listen to and then immediately tell all your friends about.

The intro to the album is a short burst of fury that promises more to come and then comes ‘Hades’ a track that is the right mix of growls and melody and instantly wins you over. To be honest there is a lot going on with the track, from sharp guitars that want to punch you in the face through to a doom sound that oozes with pleasure.

Aside from their sound though what sets ExitWounds apart from the rest of the herd is their songwriting. With lyrics like ‘you’ve only got yourself to blame, I knew you would never change’ the track ‘Transparency’ is heartfelt yet full of anger, an anger that easily comes through to the listener. Likewise when Alec Harter belts out ‘I want to be free to be something and runaway from everything’ on ‘Medusa’ you know exactly where he is coming from and you can feel the pain in his face.

‘Choices’ shows that the band is mature enough to mix up their pace with an almost seamless change while that track grouped with ‘Scars’ shows a strong instrumental side to ExitWounds. That combined with their amazing song-writing ability is enough to see this band go a long way.

Visions is close to be the perfect album. Beautiful musicianship, a sound to die for and lyrics that reveal a band way more mature than their age. This is a band that is going to make it big and it is going to be pleasure to listen along as that journey continues toward their destiny.
