Beginning with a cinematic tone that feels like you’re firing up the latest Avengers flick, Suffocate launches into a marching wall of distorted guitars and commanding vocals. It all builds up to Dylan Dively’s cathartic words “I’m sick and tired of living in my head” in the anthemic chorus.
It’s appropriate timing for the release of the new track as May is Mental Health Awareness month, a cause the band has been longtime advocates of, dating back to their 2017 viral cover of Logic’s 1-800-273-8255.
