Witchgrinder have released a new song from their current album, Haunted. Our Nightmare is the second track to be released and follows on from Bloodlust, which was released earlier this year.
“The song was written about Wes Craven’s (R.I.P) story called ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street.’, says vocalist, Travis Everett. It’s based on a school janitor pedophile that was burnt alive by the parents of the children. He sought revenge to torture the children’s through dreams as he was no longer among the living. Wes Craven’s research for the film lead him into all sorts of facts and myths of where dreaming and nightmares come from.
“The ideas and fear came with the lyrics came from the Wes Craven’s view about lucid dreaming and nightmares. My dreaming can almost come so close to reality. I know when I’m awake and when I’m dreaming, the nice ones you never want to wake up that’s why I love sleeping. Your nightmares feel sometimes worst than what the real reality is. That f*cking scares me.”
