Joey Jordison’s new band Vimic have just released their first single, Simple Skeletons. Vimic has risen from the ashes of Scar The Martyr, although three members of that band remain in Vimic. The biggest change from Scar The Martyr is Kalen Chase stepping in on vocals for Henry Derrick, who was either fired or walked out on the band depending who you ask. You can listen to the premiere of Simple Skeletons here at Siriusxm.
In an interview with Jose Mangin, Jordison was asked why he decided to leave the Scar The Martyr name behind: “I decided I wanted to start fresh. I did not want to keep rehashing old ideas. If I am going to keep going, I really just wanted to break loose and wipe the slate clean. So I renamed the band, and I got a new singer and a new keyboard player [plus] three other members from the Scar the Martyr lineup. We went down into the basement and started demoing material and everything started clicking.”
