After the worldwide success of their most recent single “Leviathan” in December last year, Esprit D’Air are returning with their explosive cover of X Japan’s popular song “’紅’ (Kurenai)”, accompanied by a captivating and stunning motion graphics video.

“’紅’ (Kurenai)” – written by Yoshiki – was originally released by legendary heavy metal band X Japan in 1989, and is one of the band’s signature songs from their major-label debut album, Blue Blood.

According to Kai: “I started creating weekly guitar videos online recently during lockdown. “Kurenai” was one of the guitar solos I shared a video of. Many supporters suggested that I should do a full cover of it, and I thought—why not? I love the song!”

Based out of London, Esprit D’Air is a Japanese metal band that is taking the world by storm.

After winning Best Metal Album for their debut – judged by members of Slayer, Sepultura and Evanescence‘s Amy Lee – at The Independent Music Awards held in New York City in 2018, Esprit D’Air have shown no signs of slowing down, spreading their enchanting blend of Japanese influenced metal with a European twist to a new legion of fans the world over.

With “’紅’ (Kurenai)” the band plans to cement that growing reputation and further enhance their credentials.
