Boorloo/Perth doom-metal outfit Dreamspeed share their haunting new single, Inverse Shadows off their upcoming debut EP, Demo, out Friday 6 November. They’ll showcase their new tunes live at Halloween at Lynotts Lounge on Saturday 31 October with Your Mothers Disgusting Window, Forged By Fear and Wittenoom. Tickets on sale now.
Another searing showcase of their blackened screamo, depressive doom and post-black metal sound, Inverse Shadows was one of the first tracks written together, exploring the concept of Dreamspeed itself: the embodied sensation of hopelessness, like trying to scream, run or throw a punch in a dream. Punishing and frayed vocals deliver a vengeful exploration of violence and abuse, offering a form of lyrical atonement for memories that time has reduced to bad dreams.
