Brisbane’s long running, uncompromising metal-punk juggernaut Dreamkillers have just released their new album, Proiphys Cunninghamii. which features no less than 8 songs including the recently released, Shirley, a tribute to the Skyhooks legend. They are also giving their fans plenty of bonus material on the Physical version, Proiphys Cunninghamii Deluxe EP which has an extra 8 tracks!
Les Jobson from tbe band says of the release, “Proiphys Cunninghamii came upon us without warning. It was born out of urban myths and half-truths — the kind of stories that become the very ground you stand on, even when they’re not entirely real. There were voices claiming things that never truly happened, and we realised there was no time left for dancing around it.
This EP lives in the peripheral vision of mankind — that space where legend and reality blur. We put everything on the table. No holds barred. Nothing left in the tank. It’s guts and soul shaking hands in what feels like a departure zone.
There’s a thread inspired by the night Rock and Roll George drove his FJ over Cunningham’s Gap — a moment that turned into myth, where by morning only one remaining life had seen it all.
Proiphys Cunninghamii — the Brisbane Lily — felt like the perfect name. Something that blooms quietly in the shadows, but refuses to be ignored.”
