DREAMERS CRIME Talk Influences

Listen to any of the singles released by Sydney hard rock outfit Dreamers Crime and you’ll quickly realise that the four-piece band know how to write a song. We asked frontman Pete Repousis about albums that have influenced Dreamers Crime over the course of their sonic evolution, and this is what he had to say.

Taking first place is Linkin ParkHybrid Theory: “Catchy hard rock/metal songs with a voice like that…wtf is this?! Just like many other fans, this album was that bridge to the heavier side of the music world. The combination of a fresh heavy sound, the hip hop element of Mike Shinoda and Mr Hahn, the deep lyrics, memorable hooks and melodies, as well as Chester himself, created a nu metal masterpiece”

MetallicaMaster Of Puppets: “The song Master Of Puppets was definitely the first song over 4 minutes that I fell in love with. When I want to show someone what heavy metal is, I show them Master Of Puppets, even before Stranger Things.”

Alter BridgeBlackbird: “Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti are brilliant song writers and masters of their own craft. This album motivated me to be a better singer and test myself outside of my comfort zone in my novice days as a vocalist. Myles Kennedy is still in my top 5 rock singers list.”

Bon JoviNew Jersey: “Watching their doco “Access All Areas” activated the rock and roll DNA in my body. The New Jersey album and tour is my favourite period of the band to uncover footage and watch over again. This was the Bon Jovi juggernaut at its peak! New Jersey > Slippery When Wet hehe.”

Last but not least Limp Bizkit“Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water: As a wrestling fan, Limp Bizkit was the soundtrack to the best time of the WWF (now WWE). This album was the soundtrack to my childhood.”

Dreamers Crime have just released their latest single Like Me. Check it out below.
