Looks like the latest solo effort from James LaBrie will be ready by years end.

This will be LaBrie’s fifth solo record away from his full time job as vocalist for Dream Theater. He released two albums under the moniker MullMuzller before returning to his own name for the 2005 release Elements of Persuasion. His last solo album was 2010’s Static Impulse.

As with the last release, it will feature Darkane drummer Peter Wildoer on drums and on screaming vocals. The Swedish drummer adds that heaviness to LaBrie’s albums that differentiates them from anything he does with Dream Theater. His previous solo albums featured current Dream Theater drummer Mike Mangini.

Former Soilwork guitarist Peter Wilchers has written a few tracks and LaBrie’s long time songwriting partner and keyboardist Matt Guillory, who also worked on the MullMuzller projects will be back. Also returning are Marco Sfogli on guitars and Ray Riendeau on bass.

The untitled album will once again be produced by Swedish producer Jens Bogren who also mixed Static Impulse.
