DISKUST Drop New Single

Share This:

Brisbane metal rage machine Diskust have dropped another track from their upcoming EP, this time to coincide with the bands first venture South to take on audiences out of their comfort zone.

The release of “Khronic” caps a memorable six month period for Diskust, who have twice toured Far North Queensland as well as solidifying their local reputation with a string of sold-out shows to Brisbane and Gold Coast Maniacs.

“Khronic” has always been a maniac (crowd) favourite but until now had laid dormant on the recording front, much to the dismay of their loyal fanbase.

Recorded at Big Note Productions in Burleigh Heads and filmed by Alex Nelson from Merge Creative and fellow metal outfit Awake In Time, “Khronic” marks new territory for Diskust, with clean harmonies combining effortlessly with harsh vocals to produce a track seething with anger yet somehow rooted in fragility.

Nelson has done a remarkable effort with the video, capturing the dark side of all five band members while at the same time offering enough shade to hint at something more passive laying dormant beneath. His use of fire on and around the instruments adds a fresh touch to proceedings and stamps his local videography skills to perfection.

To celebrate, Diskust leave for a three day search and destroy mission, taking in the Crowbar in Sydney on April 29, the Basement in Canberra on April 30 and Kilfest in Melbourne on May 1.
