Innovators of the power-violence scene and one of California’s most intimidating bands DESPISE YOU (USA) make their first trek to Australia this May. After creating some of the hardest and most engaging music in the genre, DESPISE YOU’s journey to Australia marks almost three decades of the band’s existence albeit after a hiatus in the early 2000s.
Legendary for their collaborations and split releases over the years with bands such as Suppression, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Stapled Shut, Coke Bust, and others, their West-Side Horizons compilation album features the band’s formidable material from the 90s and is revered by fans and musical contemporaries alike. Beginning their journey as a live band in 2007, DESPISE YOU have been in demand across the globe and live up to their reputation as the angriest band in the world.
Joining DESPISE YOU on their maiden voyage to Australia is Melbourne’s outlaw grind bastards CHOOF. Their debut EP Dimwitted Amoral Exploitation is out on 27.04.23 through Dead Set Records and is a visceral slab of carnage synonymous with the distinctive Melbourne grindcore sound.
