Australian metal music was dealt a crushing blow recently when Melbourne thrash metal legends Desecrator announced they were calling it a day.
For well over a decade, Desecrator have thrilled audiences with their dynamic live display, and the commitment to the music industry displayed by frontman Riley Strong has provided inspiration for a new generation of thrashers to embrace the art.
In typical Desecrator fashion, they refuse to go out with a whimper, instead playing a select run of goodbye shows stretching from Albury on January 6 to Brisbane before the finale in Melbourne at Max Watts on January 22.
The Brisbane show, to be held at the Mansfield Tavern on January 15, features the touring line-up of Desecrator, The Ascended and Harlott, who will be joined for this show by local hard rockers PistonFist and Open Casket.

If you have seen Desecrator before then you don’t need to be told to get along and say your personal goodbyes, and if you haven’t, make sure you take this final chance to see one of this countries best ever exponents of thrash metal live and at their scintillating best.
